Steve gave you the best info on it. I hunted it last Archery season a couple of days. Only saw two others. I park right off of 115, at the access gate near Penndot yard. They also open the gates later in the season. It's a good size piece of property. Best thing to do is walk the property and get familiar with it. I'm only about five minutes from there.

Not only is there a good deer population, there are turkey, bears, bobcat, coyotes, and all kinds of furbearers.

I saw deer on the property last night, an usually do on a daily basis.

They may have several reasons for issueing the DMAP. It comes down to how they want to manage their property. It may be overbrowsed, buck/doe ratio not where their goals are, etc.

Also you can obtain up to two DMAP permits, they must be used on that property which they were issued
and can be used during any of the deer seasons for that year, archery, rifle, muzzleloader, flintlock, etc.

Also you MUST report your success for every DMAP permit you obtained, whether or not you used it. The deadline date is usually sometime in early February. Reporting can be done online.

If you are serious about wanting to hunt the property this season, shoot me a PM and I'll help you out.

The only lease I am aware of is the Bethlehem Water Authority property on Hypsy Gap road. McMicheals hunting club leased it last year (313 acres). Unless he was refering to that lease, sounds like somebody wanted you outta their honey hole...

The Nature Conservancy property on the Long Pond preserve is open to public hunting in cooperation with the PGCas per their website. This is also a DMAP property.
